9th Annual ‘Pushkin Golden Autumn Ball’
The International Pushkin Charity Fund is pleased to announce it's annual Pushkin Birthday Golden Autumn Ball to be held October 9, 2010 at the newly restored historic Ballroom in the Taleon Imperial Hotel, located at the corner of the Moika Embankment and Nevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg.
The elegant Taleon Imperial Hotel is a proud sponsor and partner of the Pushkin Fund for this event. The original “Talon” restaurant and club in this building was a place very familiar and dear to the poet who mentioned it in his masterpiece “Eugene Onegin”: “He’s off to Talon‘s, late and racing / Quite sure he’ll find Kaverin pacing”.
This year’s event with the colorful theme of “Pushkin's Characters” will be truly extraordinary. In period costumes, 250 very special guests (including members of the international cultural and business elite along with Pushkin and Romanov descendants) will enjoy a superb gourmet presentation, dancing in the splendor of this restored gem of a ballroom and enjoying top entertainment based on the plots of Pushkin’s stories - all to the charitable benefit of the Pushkin Fund grantees.
The Pushkin Fund (www.pushkinfund.com) was founded in 1997 and is well known for its charitable mission of promoting Russia's brightest star, supporting important Russian social programs such as orphanages and creating a platform for enlightened discourse and international goodwill. This year’s grantees include the AdVita Fund for children with oncologic diseases, the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the National Pushkin Museum in St. Petersburg.
Attendees are required to make a 30000 roubles ($ 1000) per seat contribution.
